Angela asked about whether an anointing would make you stronger or wiser, and we thought the answer would add to our post. Here it is: Angela, Depending on what kind of an anointing, yes. If you are building churches or any edifices, let's say, as a construction person with that anointing, you would be given extra strength, and if you were a business person with a kingly anointing, God would give you special wisdom to carry out your anointing. Notice Exodus 35:31-- And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship; to make designs for working in gold and in silver and in bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood, so as to perform in every inventive work...He has filled them with skill to perform every work of an engraver and of a designer and of an embroiderer...as performer of every work and makers of designs." When I marvel at some the photos our web administrator Martin finds for the feature ads for the radio site, invariably he points out that God led him to that photo, which was extremely difficult to find. He is anointed for web design and for finding the right photos for the site.

The elders can lay hands on you and call for that activation, but that only allows for you to be activated into that anointing, not move in it with real power and authority. You will have to ensure your obedience before you can fully walk in it.

Re: Our Anointing Kyle,While an anointing is supernatural versus the natural aspect of talents and skills, the anointing God gives will supernaturally create new talents you didn't know you had (and didn't have) along with special skills that enable you to perform that which God has called you to do. Re: Our Anointing Fernie,Sounds quite theatrical, what your pastor did. We are not to be like the Pharisees who make an outward show and get their reward here below only. The anointing is spiritual, not physical, even though physical oil is often used. The anointing should be shown by the fruits in one's life, not by being covered in oil.

However, the anointing is a specific empowerment to do a specific job, and yet God's grace is needed to understand the anointing and how to walk in it, and we should ask for the grace to walk in the anointing. A grace is an empowerment to actually change things around you. It causes the field of influence you have around you to be increased. It is a multi-faceted word in Hebrew that includes in one small facet the aspect of mercy.

Try asking you Father for the Holy Spirit to activate the anointing in you that He wants to employ at this time. And ask Him how you can prepare for it.

Our anointings cannot function beyond the level to which our character has been developed, and our character is to be that of Jesus--love. When we are rooted and grounded in love and developed in it we are fixed firmly in Jesus and our anointings have the right foundation and can function in fullness. The cost of this is not nothing. The cost of this is everything. It is turning over to Jesus all of the past and the pain of it. It is turning over all of self in order to receive all of Jesus and be all that He is. This includes turning over all of our will in order to do our Father's will. Without demonic influence and layers of deception, which of us would not leap to accept this opportunity?Many people want power without paying the price and willfully overlook Jesus' message that when we love Him we keep His commands--all of them--not just those that don't inconvenience us. So would it not be preferable to prepare and be raptured? It is extremely rare at this point. However, many have died at the hands of persecutors because of a lack of knowledge of their identity and Jesus and a lack of teaching, especially in areas of strong persecution. Most did not have the martyr anointing. They simply died. Their innocent blood does cry out to God, but not in the same way as a true martyr's blood.

Re: Our Anointing Jullie, Yes their are people who have anointing to understand dreams. It is not that common of an anointing and is often given for the understanding of one dream not as a career anointing. You can ask our Father for that grace to help another but it is seldom given for just you.
